Debbie Hackbarth is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC), and a graduate with a Master of Science in Professional Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. After raising two daughters, gaining lots of life experience, and making thirteen moves across the United States, she returned to school (and to the Valley of the Sun) to pursue her graduate degree. She holds a BS in Family Studies and Human Development from Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ. “I have faced my own grief, loss, and personal struggles. I know what it is like to reach out for help and begin the healing process. I have a strong desire to 'pay it forward' and provide a safe, therapeutic haven where others can feel heard and begin their own healing journey to recover from previous trauma and difficulties in life.”
Debbie enjoys working with individuals, adolescents, and children using a faith-based approach to utilize experiential counseling methods that include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Art Therapy. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients succeed in making lasting positive changes by targeting root issues of present problems. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness are also utilized to achieve results in the counseling process.
She is working under the direct supervision of Claudia (Chloe) Cooper, LISAC, LPC, who is an approved Clinical Supervisor through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. Debbie can be reached by phone at 781-635-5779 and by email at debbie@christiancounselingservicesaz.com. She sees clients in person and via telehealth.
