Karl Kleppe, LAC, is a Licensed Associate Counselor, working with clients needing help along their mental health journey. His graduate degree is from Phoenix Seminary. Karl has gained experience offering mental health support and solutions for communities surrounding the greater Phoenix areas. Karl is a passionate reader and is never satisfied with the status quo, and seeks to push himself to gain further knowledge to help his clients to the upmost of his ability.
Karl’s journey to becoming a counselor started when he was a boy. He spent many days of his childhood with his uncle who had Down Syndrome. By observing his uncle's challenges alongside his joy for life, it kindled a spark in Karl that led to a patient and calm demeanor and a passion to help people. This led Karl to gain specialized training and experience in helping families and individuals who are affected by autism and other developmental, or cognitive challenges. Karl also works in other areas of emotional and mental health and has begun his training in EMDR to help clients identify and process roots of trauma symptoms.
Karl's views on professional counseling are integrated with his Christian faith. He views himself as a conduit to express God’s love to people, and encourage them on their journey to health and peace. Raised in a godly home, Karl has been active in serving positions in the Church starting in high school. With a heart for children's ministries and under-served populations, Karl has learned to integrate his biblical beliefs and his passion for helping with his professional skills to continue to serve others. At the forefront of his counseling approach Karl believes the Bible speaks to the needs of himself and his clients.
Karl was born in San Diego California and has been living in Arizona since 2016. Karl enjoys a variety of outdoor activities with his wife, daughter and two dogs. He reflects on his time at Phoenix Seminary as an immense time of personal growth, being supported and encouraged by peers and professors.
Karl is working under the direct supervision of Claudia (Chloe) Cooper, LISAC, LPC, who is an approved Clinical Supervisor through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. Karl can be reached by phone at 623-850-1686 and by email at Karl@NewHopeCounselors.com. He sees clients in person and via telehealth. Monday through Thursday in the N Scottsdale office.
