Courtney believes past trauma contributes to present suffering. She also believes an individual’s mindset, thought process, and relational experiences impact his or her life. Courtney has completed specialized courses that focus on marriage and family therapy. Also, she is training in trauma-focused therapy approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She plans to work with individuals from adolescent years to adulthood.
Courtney became a Christian in childhood and her relationship with God grew during challenging times in her early adult years. A combination of the Lord, support of family and friends, and church helped her through those struggles and Courtney personally experienced the truth that "all things are possible with God." As a result, she lives by one of her favorite scriptures: Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). With that backdrop, Courtney decided to become a Christian counselor so she can help others who face personal struggles by combining faith and professional counseling approaches.
Courtney has lived in Arizona for nearly four years. She loves spending time with her husband, two children, and their dog. She likes to travel, explore new places, and try new things. She loves to hike and cook new recipes.
